Puducherry and Auroville: A 2014 Journey Revisited

Some journeys linger in memory not for the sights but for the conversations they inspired. Our trip to Puducherry and Auroville in September 2014 was one such experience. Recently, when family members asked for recommendations for their two-day visit to Puducherry before heading to Chennai for a wedding, it reignited our own memories of the place. We researched updates, cross-checked facts with ChatGPT, and realized how deeply that short trip had stayed with us. Instead of just listing places, I wanted to revisit the journey itself.

Kolhapur: an Unplanned Monsoon Road Trip

Sometimes all it takes is a thought, a map and a couple of days to start a road trip.

The Navanaths, Dattatreya, and the Nath Sampraday

My personal connection to the Nath Sampraday began in 1998 when my uncle introduced me to the teachings of Halasiddhanath (Revan Nath). It was a moment that sparked a lifelong curiosity about the Nath tradition. Nearly three decades later, in August 2026, I had the profound experience of visiting the samadhi and mandir of Halasiddhanath. Standing there, I felt a deep sense of fulfillment, as if the spiritual journey that began with my uncle’s guidance had come full circle. This experience reaffirmed my connection to the divine wisdom of the Nath Sampraday.
