Who was Demon Vajranag, who later became a learned person?
Vajranaga, also spelled as Vajranga or Vajranakha, is a demon or rakshasa in Hindu mythology. He is also known as the “Thunder Nailed” demon due to his sharp nails that resembled thunderbolts or vajra. Vajranaga is mentioned in various Hindu scriptures, including the Ramayan and the Mahabharat. In the Ramayana, Vajranag was the son of the demon king, Ravana, and was sent by his father to kill Lord Rama during his exile. However, Vajranaga was defeated by Lord Rama and his brother, Lakshmana, and was eventually killed.
In the Mahabharata, Vajranaga is mentioned as one of the demons who fought against the Pandavas in the Kurukshetra war. However, his role in the epic is relatively minor, and he is not a significant character in the story.
