King Nimi, also known as Janaka Nimi, was a legendary king in Hindu mythology. He was the ruler of the Videha Kingdom and is best known for his association with the story of the birth of the Hindu god, Lord Vishnu’s seventh avatar, Lord Rama. According to the legend, when the sage Vashistha was performing a yajna (sacred ritual), Nimi requested him to perform the yajna in his kingdom. However, due to a misunderstanding, Nimi lost his physical body and became a spirit. Later, Lord Vishnu granted him a boon to manifest a new body whenever he wished, and he became known as “Nimi Avatar” or “Nemi Chakravarti.”
