About This Episode
The story of Krishna and Rukmini is a famous tale from Hindu mythology. Rukmini was the daughter of King Bhishmaka, who ruled the kingdom of Vidarbha. She was known for her beauty, grace, and devotion to Lord Krishna. Krishna had heard of Rukmini’s beauty and had fallen in love with her. However, Rukmini’s brother, Rukmi, was against the match and had arranged for her to marry Shishupala, the king of Chedi. On the day of Rukmini’s wedding, Krishna arrived at the palace disguised as a Brahmin and carried her away on his chariot. Rukmini had sent him a letter expressing her love for him and her desire to marry him. Krishna and Rukmini then traveled to Dwaraka, Krishna’s kingdom, where they were married in a grand ceremony. The marriage was celebrated with great joy and festivity, and Krishna and Rukmini lived happily ever after.
